Iranian Army invincible due to strong faith in God: Ahmadinejad

Teheran, Press Tv
Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has praised the Iranian Army’s strong faith in God, stressing that such an army is invincible and will bring shame and disgrace to any aggressor.

The Iranian army relies on the Divine One and as such remains invincible, and will bring bitter regret and utter disgrace to any aggressor seeking to trespass on its homeland, said Ahmadinejad during the opening speech at a ceremony marking the National Army Day in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Tuesday.

Our armed forces are fully prepared to defend the existence and territorial integrity of Iran, the Iranian president emphasized.

He also made reference to the security situation in the Persian Gulf, saying, “Security will be established through the participation of the nations and governments of the region and foreign interventions will bring about nothing but destruction, dispute and insecurity.”

Ahmadinejad reiterated that maintaining the security of the Persian Gulf is “a cardinal principle” that should be abided by all the regional countries, and noted Iran, in collaboration with other regional countries, is ready to establish the most stable security in the region.

During the Tuesday ceremony, attended by top Iranian officials, Iran’s Army displayed its latest indigenous military hardware including surface-to-surface missiles, drones and air defense systems.

The occasion marked the establishment of the Islamic Republic's Army.

In recent years, Iran has made major breakthroughs in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in important military equipment and systems.

The Islamic Republic has announced time and again that “deterrence” lies at the heart of its defense doctrine, and that its military might poses no threat whatsoever to other countries.
